Flying Eagles Soar to 3–0 Victory Over Alice Lloyd

CEDAR BLUFF, Va. – Southwest Virginia Community College volleyball put together a commanding performance Tuesday evening, sweeping Alice Lloyd College 3–0 at home (25–15, 25–11, 25–23).
Offensive Firepower
The Flying Eagles' attack was balanced and efficient, finishing with 47 total kills and a .252 hitting percentage. Sophomore Patricia Bigge led the way with a match-high 15 kills on an outstanding .464 hitting clip while also adding two blocks. Destanie Ambers was a force as well, tallying 10 kills, nine digs, and two service aces for 12.5 points.
Freshman Landri Lallande provided a spark with seven kills on a .417 percentage, and Brooklyn Langston chipped in six kills and an ace. Natalie Haynes added six kills of her own, while Jaycie Stanley contributed three.
Setting the Tone
Setter Lucy Reid steered the offense with 37 assists and added three service aces to her stat line, playing a pivotal role in keeping SWCC's attack flowing smoothly.
Defensive Strength
Defensively, the Flying Eagles finished with 56 digs, led by Evie Buffington's 14 and Ambers' nine. Anna McKinney made her presence felt in the back row with eight digs, while Reid and Langston chipped in seven and three, respectively.

What's Next
With the sweep, Southwest Virginia improves its record to (9-12,2-4). The Flying Eagles will return to Region 10 play on Saturday, October 4, when they travel to Richard Bland for a Tri-Match with the Statesmen and Louisburg College. First Serve is set for 10:00 AM.
