Ambers earns 1st Team, Bowers and Hale earn 2nd Team All-Region Honors
The Flying Eagles Volleyball team placed three members on the Region X Division 2 All-Region team announced today. Freshman Destanie Ambers was named to the 1st team. Sophomores Jayci Bowers and Charlee Hale were named to the 2nd Team.
Ambers, an Outside Hitter from Virginia Beach Virginia wasted no time making her presence felt this fall. She finished the season with 265 kills, ranking her 11th in the region. She finished second on the team in Service Aces with 31 and digs with 370. Ambers also finished her freshman campaign with 11 Solo Blocks.
Bowers, a Sophomore Setter from Elizabethton Tennessee adds another accomplishment to her 2024 season. Earlier this season she reached the 1,000-assist mark for her Southwest career. She averaged 8.11 assists per set this year, ranking third in the region. Bowers finished with 46 Service Aces and 339 digs.
Hale, a Sophomore Libero from Whitesburg Kentucky proved to be a solid piece defensively from the Flying Eagles. Charlee finished the season with 397 digs, which ranked her third in the region. She also had 515 receptions and 22 Service Aces in her Sophomore campaign.
The Flying Eagles Volleyball team heads into the Region tournament with the fourth seed and earned a first-round bye. They will play on Friday Nov. 1 at 2pm against the winner of the #5 vs. #12 seeded game. The Region X Div. 2 Volleyball tournament will take place at Richard Bland College in Petersburg Va.
