SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Southwest Virginia Community College freshman Zetta Smith made program history this week with a standout performance at the Pioneers Fall Invitational, hosted by Spartanburg Methodist College. Smith finished 9th overall, marking the highest individual finish in SWCC Women’s Golf history.
Smith opened the event with a program-record 85 in the first round, highlighted by a composed front-nine score of 38 (+2) that set the tone for the tournament. She followed with a 90 in round two, closing with a two-day total of 175.
Her strong showing against a field of four-year programs and established collegiate golfers continues a trend of milestones for the young Flying Eagles program. Smith’s performance not only established a new single-round scoring record but also delivered SWCC’s first-ever top-10 finish at a collegiate invitational.
