BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Southwest Virginia Community College men's golf team was back in action this week at the Bluefield Invitational, competing in a strong two-day field with six golfers representing the Flying Eagles.
Leading the way for SWCC was Mason Crowley, who turned in rounds of 81 and 79 for a two-day total of 160, finishing tied for 43rd overall. Close behind were Conner Johnson and Colin McClintic, each carding 162 to tie for 47th. Johnson posted consistent rounds of 81 and 81, while McClintic opened with a 77 before closing with an 85.
Jack Ford finished just one stroke back, recording rounds of 78 and 85 for a total of 163. Carter Wynne added rounds of 90 and 94 for a 184 finish, while Christian Coley matched that mark with scores of 88 and 96.
On the women's side, freshman Zetta Smith competed as an individual and delivered a top-10 performance. Smith tied for 10th overall with rounds of 97 and 92, finishing with a two-day total of 189.
The Flying Eagles will split action over the next two weeks. The women's team returns to competition on Monday, Sept. 22, at the East Tennessee Collegiate, while the men are back on the course Sept. 28–29 at the Trailblazers Collegiate.
