MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — The Southwest Virginia Community College men’s golf team turned in a solid performance this week at the Bill Gardner Fall Classic, hosted by Walters State Community College, finishing sixth overall with a team total of +67.
Round One Recap
The Flying Eagles battled a challenging layout on day one. Cooper Terry led the way with a +8 (80), followed closely by Mason Croley at +9 (81). Connor Johnson carded a +13 (85), while Jack Ford added a +14 (86) to complete the team’s opening-round scoring.
Round Two Results
Southwest Virginia showed steady improvement on the second day of competition. Terry and Croley each fired a +6 (78) to pace the team, while Johnson posted a +9 (81) and Ford a +13 (85) as the Flying Eagles closed strong.
Individual Finishes
Terry’s two consistent rounds placed him 20th overall, with Croley close behind in 24th. Johnson rounded out SWCC’s top three with a 40th-place finish, marking another strong outing for the young squad.
The Flying Eagles will look to carry their momentum into their next event, the Atomic City Classic, set for October 20–21 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
