CEDAR BLUFF, Va. — Southwest Virginia Community College put five players in double figures on Saturday afternoon but couldn’t overcome a fast start from visiting Davidson-Davie, falling 89–73 at the King Community Center.
The Storm opened with a 48–33 halftime lead and maintained control despite a stronger second-half effort from the Flying Eagles.
SWCC’s balanced offensive performance was highlighted by David Frazier and Auri Jacobs, who each scored 17 points. Frazier added a game-high nine rebounds, while Jacobs went a perfect 9-for-9 at the free-throw line and handed out six assists.
Deonta Mozell and Brice Wallace contributed 11 points each, and Emonte Lee delivered a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, giving the Flying Eagles steady production inside.
Davidson-Davie countered with five players in double figures of its own, led by Dane Stewart’s 22 points, and held a decisive 34–7 advantage in bench scoring.
SWCC finished the afternoon shooting 40 percent from the field, 33 percent from beyond the arc, and 70 percent at the foul line.
