Mocksville, N.C. — Southwest Virginia Community College ran into a hot-shooting Davidson-Davie squad Friday night, falling 91–40 at Brinkley Gym as the Storm took control early and never looked back.
Davidson-Davie jumped out to a 46–19 halftime lead behind an efficient offensive attack and carried the momentum into the second half, outscoring the Flying Eagles 45–21 after the break.
Jack Ford led Southwest Virginia with 13 points, while Brice Wallace recorded a strong all-around effort with eight points and a team-high nine rebounds. Deonta Mozell added five points, and Manay Mite chipped in four off the bench.
The Flying Eagles battled on the glass, pulling down 37 rebounds, including seven offensive boards, but struggled to find rhythm offensively, shooting 24.1 percent from the field and 11.1 percent from three-point range.
Davidson-Davie was led by Tayvion Tangiora, who posted a dominant 24-point, 12-rebound performance. The Storm finished with 91 points and used a strong bench effort to steadily build the margin throughout the night.

The Flying Eagles return home Friday, Jan. 30, to host Guilford Technical Community College. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. as Southwest Virginia looks to bounce back in front of the home crowd.
