First Conference and Road Game of Season Ends In 107-95 Win Over Patrick & Henry

MARTINSVILLE, Va. — The Flying Eagles (5-0, 1-0) had three players score 20 or more points in a 107-95 conference victory on the road against Patrick & Henry Community College.
Brennan Howard led all scorers with 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting to go along with eight rebounds. Braeden Crews had 25 points, including 4-of-8 from three and 7-of-8 (88%) from the free throw line.
Saveon Falls and Ioannis Giannoultsis each had a double-double. Falls scored 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds, while Giannoultsis had 17 points with 12 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was close throughout with each team shooting the ball well. The Flying Eagles shot 51 percent from the floor while Patrick & Henry was hot from behind the arc, shooting 40 percent from three for the game.
- The Eagles had a 47-46 lead at the break. They eventually were able to stretch out the lead to 10 at 64-54 before the Patriots made a run of their own to make it a 90-89 game with 4:30 to play.
- The Eagles quickly took a 99-91 lead thanks to three fast break baskets. Crews got fouled on a floater in the lane and converted the free throw to make it a three point play. Falls and A.J. McCloud each had a fast break dunk.
- The run seemingly put the game out of reach for the Patriots as the Eagles won the game 107-95.
