Brad Strong is a graduate of Tazewell High School, Ferrum College and East Tennessee State University. Coach Strong was an Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Tazewell High School for 19 years before becoming the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Richlands High School from 2002-2012 where he compiled a record of 179 wins and 88 losses. Richlands High School won four Southwest District Championships and three Coppinger Tournament Championships during this time. Coach Strong returned once again to be the Head Varsity Coach at Richlands High School in 2017 -2019 until retiring to accept this position at SWCC.
Coach Strong had the honor of coaching his two sons, Bradley and Reece who both received scholarships to play at the Division 1 Level at Western Carolina University. Bradley was drafted by the Chicago White Sox and had a successful Minor League Baseball career. Coach Strong is a member of Community Heights Church. He is married to Mary Ann Strong and they are the proud grandparents of Willis Strong.
Coach Strong is honored to be the Head Baseball Coach at SWCC and is looking forward to building a successful program.
